StatureEstablished

A settled top-flight club making no claim above itself or below it.

FanbaseSmall

Few of them, and none of them quiet.

StandingFledgling

Something on the board, and not yet enough of it to be known for.

Expectation
Modest, and shaped entirely by seasons nobody else recalls
Identity
A fiercely proud fanbase remembering an old title and Season 1

Small in number and wildly disproportionate in volume. Giraffe Athletic have the most committed support in the league per head, and all of it is organised around an old league title the record cannot date and one season everybody else has forgotten. The institution is genuinely bigger than the crowd. That is how a club ends up at Established with a fanbase that would suit a Minnow.

Second in Division 1 and an APL Cup final, in the same season. That was Season 1, level on points with the champions and beaten 5-1 by FC Cat in the final — the closest they have come to adding to the title since the old league ended. Twelfth, tenth and fifteenth since. In Season 4 they put out Swan Rovers and Praying Mantis before losing 5-3 at FC Pig.

Lion City

HeatSimmering

Quiet at the moment, and not gone. It has been hotter and could be again.

Giraffe Athletic finished second in Season 1, when Lion City were thirteenth. Everything since has gone the other way: twelfth, tenth, fifteenth for Giraffe while Lion City won two titles. Giraffe have never got over being ahead of them once, and Lion City have never had to think about it.
